CIAPOW

The newest episode of American Dad was a little disappointing. It starts with Stan and his CIA buddies about to take out a building when a drink takes it out before they did. The guys decide to steal the president of Thailand’s inhaler to prove that they are needed. They were found out and went on the run. They were chased through the red light strict and then they were chased into a Burger King. They went back to their hotel and then they were captured. they were drugged with truth serum. They all crack eventually and they find out that it was Stan’s fault even though he was blaming the group for them getting caught. They end up escaping but then decide to go back for the inhaler and then are captured again. Their boss, Bullock, rescues them in the end.

Meanwhile, Francine, Steve, Roger, Hayley, and Klaus are having a slow race? I’m not sure what to call it. This was my favorite part of the episode. The five of them race across the room trying to go as slowly as possible. It was the best part of the episode. I hope that next week’s episode is better!

Padre Americano!

My favorite show on television. Always.

American Dad was dropped by Fox and picked up by TBS. I’m going to miss the Sunday Night Lineup though! I was Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and then American Dad. My roommate and I used to sit down with a plate of chicken and watch them but now it’s ruined! Oh well.

The first three episodes of the season aired on Fox. The last one aired on TBS.

Episode 1 – Roger Passes the Bar
Roger is killing himself from working too hard. He gets sick and sells his bar to a chain. He becomes the chain’s representative and helps them make more money. He eventually buys the bar back and he is much happier. A new neighbor moved into the neighborhood and she is a registered sex offender and she employees Steve and his friends to fix up her house by flirting them and implying she was going to have sex with them. It turns out that she flips houses for a living by making young boys do it for her. Very funny episode! It was funny how Steve and his friends knew how to fix up a house, they were like master carpenters and it was hysterical.

Episode 2 – A Boy Named Michael
Roger is upset that the neighbors across the street, Greg and Terry, live a much more sophisticated life than he does. He says that Stan and the family are white trash. Greg and Terry announce that they are adopting a son from Russia and Roger intercepts the child, throws him out of an airplane, and pretends to be him so he gets adopted into their family. He loves the house and everything in it but then realizes that Terry is white trash also and decides to kill him. Terry realizes that Roger is going to tell Greg about his white trashness and decides to kill him as well. There is this whole awesome scene in the bathroom of a restaurant where Roger talks about killing Terry and people hear him in the bathroom so he says that he is going to kill him. A few people come out of the stalls and one of them happens to be a cheerleading squad and they have a tshirt giveaway and ah it was hysterical. Roger and Terry end up fighting on a canoe and Terry thinks that he kills Roger but Greg says it’s okay because Roger didn’t fit in anyway. Roger is upset and then goes back to the Smith’s.

Episode 3 – Blagsnarst, A Love Story
Roger and Francine find a spaceship in the forrest and it turns out to be a furry female alien (voiced by Kim Kardashian). She and Roger date/hook up and then Roger decides to dump her. Roger tries to get rid of her but he can’t seem to shake her because she won’t let the relationship end. Roger tries to get rid of her by calling the CIA but then realizes he can’t let her get killed. He drives his car off the road after jumping out. The car crashes and goes up in flames, the furry alien’s fur burns off the reveal Kim Kardashian.

Episode 4 – Blonde Ambition
Hayley realizes that she does not get heard because she is not blonde. She dies her hair blonde so that she can get people to listen to her about her causes. She parties super hard, thinking that she is spreading awareness, but the people are not listening to her because the only reason they are talking to her is because she is pretty. She realizes that nobody is listening to her and frees the whales pulling the cruise ship she is on. She thinks she is helping but she ends up causing a huge oil spill. Stan becomes annoyed with all of the flyers being taped to his doors but then realizes how great the deals on them are. He decides to look for a new house. Stan and Steve go to a new house and hang out there but the guard dogs end up cornering him, but they get away. Stan sees that he would have to walk extremely far to get his mail and decides that it is not the right place to live.

More to come!

What? You’re actually posting content you said you would?

*Spoiler Alert!*

Yes. I just watched last week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers. The show always makes me laugh, every time. This episode revolved around Gene. The episode starts with the Belcher family in the guidance counselor’s office. Gene tells his side of the story. The principal announces that she wants students to come forward with ideas for the school play this year. Gene and his ex-girlfriend compete for the school play. Gene ends up losing and cannot show his play. Louise has the brilliant idea to have the play shown the same night in the boiler room. As Gene’s play is going on, the school playing going on upstairs. Louise is trying to get people to come downstairs to see Gene’s play and she is charging $5 at the door. Gene eventually gets busted and everybody ends up in the counselor’s office. Gene & his ex-grilfriend decide that it is better to combine the two plays and they show the play at the end.

You should really watch the episode if you can because I cannot capture the comedy too well in a paragraph! I also just watched all four American Dad episodes so I’m going to post those soon as well! Goodnight!

Soooo I Posted Next Week’s Homework

Whoops!

I would say that Tumblr would be the best promotional tool for my blog. I use Tumblr all the time and I have noticed that people that use the website love television shows. I see a lot of Bob’s Burgers being blogged about or photosets of the show being posted. I also noticed a lot of Parks and Recreation on Tumblr as well. I just think that it would be beneficial to my blog to be shown on Tumblr. Tumblr people also watch way too much Netflix. I would know, I am one of those people. They watch so much Netflix and they post about it all the time as well.

If some of the people who followed my blog were to use Facebook as a social media tool instead of Tumblr, it may also be beneficial. Some of their close friends might check it out because they posted it so more people would see my blog. I have looked at some peoples’ blogs on Facebook before and I was not close with them but I still checked it out and that is all that matters. They were cool blogs and I am glad that they posted them onto Facebook.

The Family Guy Effect

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/family-guy-effect

The “Know Your Meme” website describes the “Family Guy Effect” as when a funny meme comes to the Internet, Family Guy will make a joke about it, and it no longer becomes funny. After reading the page I linked, I noticed that Know Your Meme has the wrong definition. The videos they linked in their article (I suppose it’s an article) are all clips of Family Guy where they take something, such as a meme or a bit, and repeat it until it is no longer funny. The perfect example of this phenomenon has to be the scenes where Peter fights the big chicken. I do not find this funny, nor did I ever find it funny but they abuse the shit out of the joke.

I suppose this meme could benefit my blog because I am writing about it right now. If someone were to search for the Family Guy Effect, my blog may show up on the search page and an Internet user might stop by my blog to see what I have written. They can see that I post about Family Guy once a week (loosely haha) and they might follow my blog.

First of all, how dare you

Yes, I have neglected to post anything besides class work. But, I went a bit of a binge in my free time & took some notes! I’m still very far behind but I’m doing my best! So, without further adieu, here are summaries of the first two episodes of New Girl, an episode of Modern Family, and the crossover episode of Family Guy and The Simpsons!

New girl episode 1

Jess doesn’t want to go to a wedding. The gang makes a pact that they will all hook up with someone at the wedding. Coach doesn’t remember an old hookup. Cece returns without a boyfriend & Schmidt doesn’t know yet but he still wants to impress her. Jessica Biel shows up to the wedding & competes with Jess for the best man. Schmidt is striking out & he & nick were offered a four way with two girls. Nick doesn’t want to do the four way because he doesn’t want to be near Schmidt. Nick finds out that Cece is single & decides to do the four way to help out his friend. Schmidt decides he doesn’t want to do the four way because he found out that Cece is single. Jess & Jessica Biel compete for the best man & he cannot decided & they both give up. They all go home without a hookup & reminiscent about all of the weddings they went to over the summer.

New girl episode 2

Schmidt has a girl stay over & Jess doesn’t know what tinder is. She decides to “Dice”. Dice is a dating app that gives you a split second to say yes or no to a match. Jess matches with a weird dude & calls Schmidt to pick her up. Jess asks Schmidt if he would teach her how to Dice. Coach, Nick, & Cece decide to eat pot brownies. Winston makes them go to his cop friend’s house for a party & they ruin it. Meanwhile, Schmidt set up 10 Dice dates for Jess & she learns how to dice. She finally gets the date that she wanted but ruins her chances. She calls him back & he comes back. She finds out he’s a magician & but goes on the date anyway. Winston gets his new police friends to mess with Coach, Nick, & Cece because he knew they were high. Winston finally made friends with the guys & got his very own nickname: Toilet.

Modern Family

Mitchell & Cam are finally married. Cam is being super clingy with Mitchell & you can tell right away that it bothers Mitchell. The Dunphey’s are having a wonderful summer because Alex isn’t home. Alex is building houses for the poor. Gloria & Manny FaceTime Gloria’s family in Columbia. Jay has been dressing very comfortably lately & Gloria doesn’t like it. Mitchell is complaining to his sister Clair that Cam is being clingy. Alex comes home early & you can tell there is a shift in the balance of the house. She complained the entire dinner. As soon as Alex left the house, everybody started getting alone but when she re-enters the house, they fight again. Jay finds out that Gloria has been sending his clothes to Columbia. She tells him that she wishes he would dress better for her & then Gloria decides to stop taking care of her appearance. Cam surprised Mitchell at work & is showing his new coworkers pictures from their honeymoon. Mitchell & Cam have a fight & Cam says that he doesn’t want to lose the spark. Mitchell says that he will help more with the marriage & they make up. Alex is about to leave to go back & help build houses & a series of terrible events happen: ranging from the oven smoking, the fire extinguisher going everywhere, Hayley finding out that her webcam doesn’t turn off when she goes to a different page & everybody almost dying from eating Rhubarb leaves. Alex stays home instead. The whole family surprises Gloria for her birthday at the end.

Family guy

The Simpsons cross over! Peter is mad that the Denice the Menice cartoon wasn’t funny & decides to write a cartoon himself & gets published in the newspaper. The crew goes to the bar & Peter is given a free beer for his cartoon. The group gives Peter some ideas for cartoons. Lois gets mad at Peter for drawing a sexist cartoon. The whole internet is pissed off at Peter for the cartoon so he has to apologize for it on television. A ton of angry women show up at the Griffins protesting Peter’s cartoons. The family decides to get out of town for a few days. They stopped at a gas station & their car got stolen. They end up in Springfield, but we still don’t know what which state! They stole at the keik-e-mart. Homer shows up! He offers to buy donuts for the Griffins. Homer teaches Peter the correct way to eat a donut. The Griffins report their stolen car. Okay, I’m going to be brutally honest. I do not like the Simpsons. I could not watch the rest of the episode because I was just not into it at all. Sorry, not sorry.

Screencast Assignment

http://bit.ly/16b0DhC

I chose to do my assignment on a blog called “Project Gregory.” Again, like everyone else says, I hate hearing the sound of my voice when it has been recorded. I had never been to the blog before I did the screen recording so I was not very familiar with it. I do not go on blogs, not because I do not like them, I just don’t. I prefer websites, personally.

The actual recording was not difficult. I actually have a YouTube channel with my roommates where we record ourselves playing video games and upload them to YouTube. I don’t want to brag, but we have 19 subscribers so please don’t ask me for an autograph. But in all seriousness, I have had so much trouble in the past with recording screens and voices so I am a pro by now.

I used QuickTime to record my screen and the garageband app on my iPad to record my voice. I used Final Cut Pro to edit the audio and video together. I enjoy editing, it’s nice until you have to hear your voice a ton of times!

Something cool that a lot of people use screen recording software for is How To videos. I could not live with these videos because it is how I learn probably around 80% of the things that I do not know how to use. I think anybody can benefit from screen recording software, with the How To videos I was talking about before. I think that screen recording software is a very awesome tool.

I am not sure what Professor Bridges meant by “what creative projects could benefit from a screencast.”

I also realized that I was “interesting” probably 15 times and it really bothers me to listen to the video now haha. I do think that the screen casting software assignment could have been used for something better than critiquing a blog. I think we should have played a game or something, I think this assignment begs for people to be bored/boring. That’s just my opinion!

Commercial!

Making this commercial was a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I think the biggest problem I had was working up the courage to talk over the music. After getting used to it, I decided, “Hey, who gives a hoot. I may as well go all out.” So I talked in a weird voice and talked to myself. It makes me uncomfortable to listen to it for more than a fews seconds, which made editing it a little difficult. I used Final Cut Pro to edit the sounds together because I am used to the program. The editing was not really the hard part because I actually enjoy editing. I could not think of any songs that would go with my blog so I figured than it would make more sense to string together all seven shows featured on my blog and talk over that. I like writing commercials, it is something I think I would be fun to do as a career someday. I hate commercials that aren’t funny because if you can not get me to laugh, I am probably not going to buy your product (unless it’s a necessity). This was definitely out of my comfort zone and I absolutely hate the sound of my voice, especially on a recording! I will get over it eventually. I hope the commercial makes people want to check out my blog, because I worked hard on it. I think the best part of the commercial is the fact that I used the theme songs for all of the shows that I summarize. People do not usually pay attention to the theme songs, but this commercial helps people to realize that they know all of the words. Leave some constructive criticism to help me improve!
